MBAC undertakes annual reporting valuations for clients throughout Australia and has access to transactional evidence from actual forest sales in Australasia and North America. This requires developing an understanding of future costs and returns from the forest and the selection of an appropriate discount rate in order to arrive at a market value of the future cashflows.

MBAC relies on the transactional evidence and appropriate calculations (WACC) for example when deciding on a suitable discount rate. In this way, market sales evidence is able to be incorporated into the valuation where this is required. Valuation expertise flows through into MBAC project analysis work, in particular when undertaking feasibility studies and assessing the financial viability of either forest acquisitions or the establishment of new forest projects both in Australia and throughout the South Pacific.
