Rod Meynink

Rod has around 30 years experience in the Australian and international forestry sector. His principal fields of expertise are resource assessment, forest inventory, carbon sequestration, remote sensing, marketing, global fibre resources, forest valuation, woodflow planning systems and development forestry, specifically in Australia, China, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Prior to founding MBAC, Rod spent three years with the (then) Woods and Forests Department in South Australia and three years with Hardboards Australia (a CSR Company). He then set up Forfront Pty. Ltd., a forest consulting practice specializing in resource assessment, selling this to and working for Jaakko Pöyry Consulting from 1990 to 2001 throughout the Asia-Pacific Region, in North and South America and South Africa. He has undertaken over 200 projects in Asia (China, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam); Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu); Americas (United States, Argentina and Suriname); South Africa; Europe (Finland, UK).

Rod's latest projects include Carbon sequestration work for a major NSW emitter, plantation valuation work in Victoria, regional socioeconomic studies in Victoria and Queensland, expert witness in fibre export in Western Australia, Cypress haulage analysis in Queensland, extensive plantation mapping and assessment using satellite imagery in Australia and hardwood wood fibre market assessments in the Pacific Rim.
