Judy Alexander

Judy has over 15 years experience with the forest industry across native forests and plantations, in both public and private sector forestry throughout New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. She is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF), a member of Institute of Foresters of Australia and a member of Australian Forest Growers.

Judy specialises in forest certification and environmental assessments. Her RPF recognises these skills. Judy played an integral part in attaining FSC certification for Hancock Victorian Plantations and managing Forestry Tasmania’s Forest Management System and AFS/ISO14001/OHS certification process. She has also provided leadership for two forestry companies managing conformance against the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS).

Judy has Forest Management System development experience covering documentation, policy implementation, procedures and systems required for AFS certification.

Throughout her career, she has built up extensive experience in auditing, in particular operational and internal auditing for compliance/implementation of forest management systems to comply with certification requirements. Judy is a qualified lead auditor of environmental management systems.

Judy has also developed substantial experience in managing special values (biodiversity, cultural heritage, soils and water) within operational and strategic forest management parameters. She managed pre-operational survey programs for special values, developed native vegetation mapping and threatened species survey programs, conducted special values assessments and has prepared biodiversity, cultural heritage and soil and water procedures.
